The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for * Portions of central Mississippi, east central Mississippi, south central Mississippi, southeast Mississippi and southwest Mississippi, including the following areas in central Mississippi, Copiah, Hinds, Madison MS, Rankin, Scott, Simpson and Smith. In east central Mississippi, Jasper. In south central Mississippi, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Lincoln and Marion. In southeast Mississippi, Covington, Forrest, Jones and Lamar. In southwest Mississippi, Claiborne, Franklin MS and Jefferson. * From this evening through Wednesday evening * Bands of heavy rain associated with Tropical Storm Gordon could bring 3 to 6 inches of rain to the area. Some locally higher amounts are possible. * The flooding of roads, low lying areas, areas with poor drainage, and area rivers will be possible.
