Youth 15 years and younger are invited to fishing rodeos being held at two State Fishing Lakes on Saturday, May 27. Both events are free, and they provide a good opportunity for young anglers to fish a lake that is well stocked with catfish which are typically easy to catch. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers. Families are invited to come enjoy quality time together in a safe environment.
The Rose Hill rodeo is being held at Lake Claude Bennett located in Jasper County on CR 50319 about 1 mile south of the Hwy 18 – CR 503 intersection, and starts at 7:30 a.m. Call the lake office at (601) 727-3561 for more information.
Lake Bill Waller is the site for the rodeo at Columbia. Lake Bill Waller is located in the Marion County Wildlife Management Area about 7 miles southeast of Columbia. This event starts at 7:30 a.m. Contact the lake office at (601) 736-1861 for more information.
