Donate blood with United Blood Services and celebrate the heroes of our country. Through blood donor heroes, United Blood Services can ensure that there is blood readily available whenever it is needed, especially during the busy and active Memorial Day holiday.  Red cell, plasma and platelet donations are needed NOW to help secure the blood supply for Memorial Day holiday weekend blood needs.  All blood types are needed, especially type O-negative, as it is the most transfused type in emergency situations.

Donate blood at a donor center near you between May 14 and May 31. Each donor will receive apatriotic T-shirt and bonus points for a FREE movie ticket through the online reward store, which can be accessed at bloodhero.com. 

Donors can donate at the Hattiesburg donor center located at805 S. 28th Ave. . Donors can schedule an appointment to donate at www.bloodhero.com or call 877-827-4376.  Walks in are welcome.

Blood donation takes about an hour from check-in to refreshments. Donors can save about 20 minutes by completing their Fast Track Health History the day they donate. It’s at www.UnitedBloodServices.org.

Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 and 17 must have signed permission from a parent or guardian.
