A good crowd arrived at 10am this morning to celebrate the opening of the Columbia Farmers Market on High School Avenue. They will be open every Friday from 7am until noon. Vendors will be required to follow state requirements for selling produce, and will also say where the products were produced. All items must be grown or made in the state of Mississippi. This is a great opportunity to buy local and buy Mississippi. The market is sponsored by the Marion County Board of Supervisors, the City of Columbia, and Marion County Farm Bureau.
