
There were 28 arrests made in Mississippi last week as a part of the FBI’s Operation Cross Country. Operation Cross Country has been in effect since 2003 and is a two-day initiative focusing on the rescue of prostitution victims around the United States. 82 children were rescued from prostitution and the sex trade nationally this year. However, no child victims were recovered in Mississippi. Of those 28 individuals whom were arrested in Mississippi on October 13th and 14th, 22 were charged with prostitution, 5 were charged as pimps and 1 was arrested on a narcotics charge. The FBI was assisted by local and state authorities in Mississippi.
