The State Health Department has confirmed a case of West Nile Virus in Jefferson Davis County.
The MSDH suggests the following precautions to protect yourself and your environment from mosquito-borne illnesses:
-Use mosquito repellant with an EPA registered ingredient when you are outdoors.
-Remove all sources of standing water around your home and yard.
-Wear loose, light-colored, long clothing to cover arms and legs when outdoors.
-Avoid areas where mosquitos are prevalent.
