Three men were arrested in November of 2016 in Lamar County for conspiring to murder Marion County businessman and Mississippi IHL Board member, Tommy Duff. The three men who were arrested were Victor Mitchell, Howard Cameron and Glen Evans. It was revealed in court on Monday, December 12th, 2016 that the three men had planned to kidnap, rape and murder Thomas Duff of Columbia, MS. The men were caught before the crime ever occurred.
Victor Mitchell is believed to be the leader in this conspiracy and appeared in front of Lamar County judge, Billy Andrews, on Monday, December 12th, 2016 for a Habeas corpus hearing. Mitchell was denied bond for the second time by a Lamar County court.
