Bloodmobile in Columbia on Thursday

Due to an unusual decline in summer blood donations and the assistance in blood availability during the recent Louisiana and South Mississippi flooding, blood reserves are low. Your donation is needed to help ensure our family and friends have blood available if and when it is needed during the Labor Day holiday.

Donate blood September 1-11 and you will receive a 9-11 “Never Forget” 15th Anniversary Commemorative t-shirt! While supplies last. This year marks the 15th Anniversary of that tragic day of September 11, 2001. Remember the sacrifice, honor the lives, and support the cause by donating blood. Gone but not forgotten!

Donors can donate at the donor center in Hattiesburg located at 805 South 23rd Avenue. The donor center WILL be open on Labor Day from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

Columbia residents can donate on Thursday, September 8 at Citizens Bank in Columbia (Main Office) from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm

Those who wish to donate may call 877-UBS-HERO (877-827-4376) or visit to make an appointment to give.

Blood donation takes about an hour fro check in to refreshments. Donors can save about 20 minutes by completing their Fast Track Health History the day they donate. It’s at www.UnitedBlood

Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 and 17 must have signed permission from a parent or guardian.
