On Wednesday, the Marion County Sheriff’s office received a call around 6pm in reference to a child with a gunshot wound at the Marion General Hospital. Deputies responded and were advised that the wounds were not life threatening. The Department of Human Services were called in and are conducting an investigation into the incident. The shooting was reported to have happened in the Hub community and was reported as an accidental shooting. There are no further details at this time and an investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
