The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported 6 fatalities and 75 injuries over state and federal roads this 4th of July weekend. The period started on Friday at 6p and concluded Monday evening at midnight.
The deaths occurred in Pike, Neshoba, Quitman, Lauderdale and Panola counties.
Troopers wrote 7,877 citations and arrested 182 on DUI charges.
A total of 131 crashes were investigated and a total of 444 seatbelt violations ticketed with 71 child restraint violations
